FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
The solution combines a new manual dispenser with solid hand wash bars to support sustainable hand hygiene.
WILMINGTON, Del. (USA) — Diversey, a Solenis company, a leader in hygiene and cleaning solutions, is proud to announce the global launch of the LESSEAU® Manual dispenser and solid hand wash bars — an innovation co-developed with Netherlands-based partner Slimstones. Designed to support more sustainable hand hygiene, the dispenser and the solid hand wash bars are being introduced globally across institutional settings including commercial washrooms, healthcare, education, hospitality, and other public environments.
The LESSEAU® Manual dispenser is engineered for maximum performance with minimal environmental impact. The solid-bar refills are made from plant-based ingredients, feature zero plastic packaging, and produce no product waste. Through an exclusive distribution agreement with Slimstones, Diversey is bringing this innovation to institutional hygiene customers around the world.
“This innovation represents a transformative step in sustainable hygiene,” said Gaetano Radaelli, chief technology officer, Solenis. “By replacing traditional liquid soaps in bulky single-use plastic cartridges and bottles with compact, zero-plastic solid hand wash bars, we’re eliminating plastic waste and reducing carbon emissions by 90% — all while maintaining the highest standards of hygiene. It’s a powerful shift toward truly circular, low-impact hygiene.”
The solid-bar refills dissolve instantly with water during use and take up 90% less storage space than traditional liquid soap. One pallet of refills can replace up to 38 pallets of liquid soap, offering substantial reductions in logistics emissions and warehouse footprint.
“We are thrilled to bring this game-changing innovation to market with Diversey, ” said Marcel Magermans, CEO, Slimstones. “This system redefines how we think about handwashing. It’s not only about cleaner hands, but a cleaner planet. It’s a bold step toward circularity and efficiency in everyday hygiene. Our partnership with Diversey in the institutional market allows us to shift our focus to the consumer market—enabling us to truly change the world of soap.”
This launch follows the successful introduction of the LESSEAU® No-Touch solid hand wash dispenser in select markets in 2024 and marks a significant scale-up of solid hand wash technology. By expanding availability, Diversey aims to reduce plastic waste, transport emissions and product overuse, while making sustainable hygiene more accessible worldwide.
It reinforces Diversey’s commitment to delivering sustainability-focused innovations that reduce plastic waste, lower greenhouse gas emissions, and promote responsible consumption across institutional and industrial markets. The initiative reflects how the company is putting change in motion to preserve the planet’s most precious resources while helping customers meet their sustainability goals.
