<h6>Customer Challenge</h6> <p>A sewage treatment plant located in EMEA was using a traditional flocculant to dewater its digested municipal sludge using a centrifuge. Results were acceptable in terms of cake dry solids but slightly variable in terms of centrate quality.</p> <p>The municipal site was keen to reduce its spend on flocculants and improve the consistency of its centrate return water to help stabilize other parts of the wastewater treatment plant.</p> <h6>Recommended Solution</h6> <p>A laboratory sludge evaluation was carried out and identified Zetag<sup>TM</sup> 8187 from Solenis’ range of flocculants as having the potential to deliver the required process improvements. </p> <h6>Results Achieved</h6> <p>After switching to Zetag<sup>TM </sup>8187 flocculant, dose optimization commenced and immediately allowed significant dose rate reductions at the same time as delivering improved centrate quality and consistency.</p> <p>The site has achieved a reduction in flocculant dose rate of 20% over an extended period and improved centrate quality has been maintained.</p> <p><img style="max-width: 100%; width: auto; height: auto; display: block; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;" src="/link/85f6b007ccaf48f7b2d9c9c81e35e8e2.aspx" alt="" width="662" height="348" /></p> <p style="text-align: center;"><strong>Average flocculant dosage per day in kg per ton dry solids</strong></p>
