OnGuard™ VBX Analyzer Helps Mill Identify Source of Chatterw Block

<h6>Customer Challenge</h6> <p>Reoccurring Yankee chatter was an issue affecting sheet quality and as the chatter grew, it necessitated dryer grinds to improve quality and machine efficiency.</p> <h6>Recommended Solution</h6> <p>Solenis performed a machine audit and subsequently recommended and installed the OnGuard&trade; VBX Analyzer as a tool to assist in Yankee asset protection and coating optimization.</p> <h6>Results Achieved</h6> <p>The OnGuard&trade; VBX Analyzer allows the operator to take and record a snapshot of a single revolution of the Yankee dryer to assist in very low frequency analysis. This snapshot records the total vibration present for a given time and preserves the image for later overlays to document any change. The time domain clearly showed an issue corresponding with two of the six internal Yankee condensate headers. See Figure 1.
