Meet your challenges head on with our proven solutions.

Solenis offers a broad selection of wet strength additives and dry strength additives that enhance the end-use performance of tissue and towel, graphic and specialty papers, and packaging paper and board. These additives allow papermakers to manage the required wet and dry strength characteristics of their products, as well as enable them to develop new and improved paper grades and, in many cases, improve their machine operating efficiency.

Our portfolio of wet strength additives includes a variety of product configurations to accommodate most, if not all, compliance standards and regulatory requirements. Our entire line of wet strength resins is approved for use in all paper grades by Green Seal. For customers serving European markets, we offer solutions that help them comply with environmental labeling requirements established by Nordic and EU Ecolabels and recommendations issued by the German Federal Institute of Risk Assessment (Bundesinstitut für Risikobewertung, or BfR).

Our portfolio of dry strength additives offers a variety of performance benefits to customers. In addition to improving the dry strength characteristics of paper and board, the use of these additives can improve retention and dewatering and reduce deposition, which can contribute to improved machine runnability and sometimes allow for increased production when running at higher speeds. Given the variety of chemistries in our portfolio, we can help customers balance strength and output, even in challenging situations such as operations using high-conductivity water.

In the 1950s, Solenis invented the first polyamidoamine-epichlorohydrin (PAE) wet strength resin. Today, we offer the broadest portfolio of permanent and temporary wet strength resins in the world.
