Innovative chemistries, advanced monitoring and control systems, and expert support for your water treatment challenges.
At Solenis, our Chem-Aqua EPI Ionization Systems provide an advanced, eco-friendly solution for domestic potable water disinfection. Using copper-silver ionization technology, our systems help control harmful pathogens, including Legionella bacteria, for safe and clean water for commercial and industrial applications.
Under certain environmental conditions, water systems can become a source for Legionella bacteria. Although Legionella is commonly found in natural bodies of water, outbreaks of Legionnaires’ disease typically originate from man-made systems (e.g., cooling towers, hot and cold-water systems, spa pools, etc.) where water is maintained at temperatures that encourage bacterial growth.
As facilities such as hospitals, hotels, and large buildings implement their water management plans, our copper-silver ionization system is a proven method for water treatment, helping offer long-term protection against biofilm formation and microbial contamination. As part of a comprehensive water management plan, our EPI systems deliver reliable, low-maintenance performance.
Our copper-silver ionization systems are ideal for:
Controller
Each system includes a controller that features intuitive software designed to ensure ease of use and consistent copper and silver ion generation. Also has Building Management Systems (BMS) connection capabilities.
Electrode Cells
The electrode cell body is machined from a solid core of aluminum that is coated with blue Corvel ECA 1626 epoxy and 316 stainless-steel flanges, meeting NSF/ANSI 61.
Ultrasonic Flow Meters
The ultrasonic flow meters communicate with the controller to continuously monitor water flow and temperature. As fresh makeup water enters the system, these flow meters activate the controller generating copper and silver ions.
Remote Monitoring
Remote monitoring allows system adjustments and data trends.
The system releases controlled amounts of copper and silver ions into the water, which may disrupt bacterial cell membranes, prevent reproduction, etc.
Unlike chlorine, EPI ionization does not produce harmful disinfection byproducts (DBPs) and can provide longer-lasting residual protection in water systems.
Yes, our systems complement water management plans by providing continuous disinfection and real-time monitoring, helping reduce the risk of outbreaks.
Minimal maintenance is needed. Regular onsite service visits are provided to monitor system performance, perform routine maintenance, and test water quality.
Whether you're building a career that lets you make a real difference or need reliable answers to your toughest process and water sustainability questions, we're ready to deliver.
