Diversey’s Linens For Life™ Program Empowers Women and Advances the Circular Economy in Türkiye

May 15, 2026

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Istanbul, Türkiye — Diversey, a Solenis company and a global leader in cleaning and hygiene solutions, has launched its Linens For Life™ program in Türkiye in collaboration with the SERA Foundation (Sustainable Economies & Resilient Access).

The initiative transforms discarded hotel linens into high‑quality upcycled products while creating sustainable economic opportunities for women. By repurposing textile waste, Linens For Life supports sustainability in the hospitality industry and reinforces Diversey’s commitment to public health and environmental stewardship.

To date, more than 110 thousand upcycled items have been reintroduced into hotel operations across Türkiye and the Middle East through production workshops established in Hatay, Ankara, and Istanbul/Pendik. The SERA Foundation plays a critical role in building the infrastructure needed to ensure the program’s long‑term success.

As momentum continues to grow, Diversey plans to expand Linens For Life across the Middle East, Africa, and beyond by 2026, further strengthening its contribution to circular economy practices and social impact.

In collaboration with the SERA Foundation, the Linens For Life program focuses on climate action and women’s empowerment, with the goal of creating broad impact by upcycling more than 5 million products to use across Türkiye, the Middle East, and Africa, while enabling 2,000 women to participate actively in the program as producers.

The program has already earned strong support from leading local and global hospitality brands. With new hotels joining regularly, Linens For Life continues to expand its reach and positive impact.

During a site visit on April 22, Earth Day, Dr. Lotta Kanto Öqvist, Chief Sustainability Officer at Solenis, commented, “Solenis continues to grow by helping customers achieve their business goals while delivering tangible sustainability outcomes. The Linens For Life project reflects our shared commitment to doing what is right for our business, our customers, and our planet. Beyond the environmental benefits, the economic and social empowerment of women is incredibly valuable to us.”

Gökhan Özdöl, Vice President, Middle East & Africa, Diversey Professional, highlighted the program’s environmental significance, “A single 400‑room hotel can discard

approximately two to three tons of linens each year. Recognizing this substantial waste stream, Diversey launched Linens For Life globally to give these materials a second life through innovative, sustainable solutions. Expanding the program to Türkiye allows us to support women entrepreneurs while addressing textile waste challenges. As we continue to grow, we are actively seeking new partnerships to amplify our environmental and social impact.”

Izabela Erşahin, Strategic Leader of the SERA Foundation, added, “Linens For Life is a scalable circular supply model that unites environmental sustainability with the economic participation of women producers. Through sustainable procurement and inclusive production networks, women are positioned as active contributors to value creation rather than short‑term beneficiaries. This initiative demonstrates that an approach which is both environmentally and economically sustainable is not only possible, but impactful.”

Diversey’s Linens For Life program continues to grow as a powerful example of how collaboration can drive sustainability, social inclusion, and meaningful progress toward a more equitable and environmentally responsible future.
