The bioDART continuously monitors microbiological growth and the potential to form biofilm using a Biofouling Index (BFI). If the BFI suddenly increases or exceeds 7 in less than 30 days, an increased potential for biofouling is indicated. The graphs below show bioDART readings during initial biocide program optimization and then normal operations.
By installing the bioDART monitor, Chem-Aqua was able to optimize the biofouling control program results and costs while assuring that the systems were operating efficiently. This assurance was part of the total water management program is saving the resort close to $330,000 annually by being able to confidently reuse the wastewater.
