Chem-Aqua found there was excessive scale formation due to water softener problems, contaminated condensate, and other mechanical and operational issues. The hospital was anticipating approximately $200,000 in boiler tube repairs in addition to $50,000&nbsp; annually to chemically clean the boilers.</p> <p><!-- /wp:paragraph --><!-- wp:heading {"level":5} --></p> <h5 class="wp-block-heading">Recommended Solution</h5> <p><!-- /wp:heading --><!-- wp:paragraph --></p> <p>Chem-Aqua surveyed the boiler systems to determine the scope and cause of the problems. The reduced heat transfer efficiency in a dirty boiler means more of the heat goes out the stack instead of being converted into steam.
