GoalSimplify procurement and property-wide cleaning operations while improving resource efficiency, safety and consistency without compromising the guest experience.

Customer challenge

A leading luxury hotel in central London, UK wanted to modernise and simplify its property-wide cleaning and hygiene programme while maintaining the exceptional standards expected of an internationally recognised five-star property. Its broad product portfolio, multiple supplier relationships and manual dosing practices created procurement complexity, fragmented logistics and inconsistent processes. The hotel also wanted to improve resource efficiency, chemical management and employee safety while reducing operational costs.

Recommended solution

Following detailed site assessments, stakeholder consultations, a three-month live operational trial, floorcare equipment demonstrations and slip-resistance testing, Diversey was appointed as the hotel’s sole cleaning and hygiene partner. The integrated programme combined supplier consolidation, portfolio standardisation, independently certified cleaning products, smart dosing technology, advanced floorcare systems, training and ongoing operational support.

Results achieved

Compared with the previous programme, the new approach reduced the product range by 21% and chemical consumption by 22%. Packaging optimisation and lower product consumption delivered an estimated 16.5% reduction in packaging-related CO2e emissions and a 15.5% reduction in cardboard and plastic packaging waste. The programme also improved safety scoring by 27% and delivered double-digit cost savings, while simplifying purchasing, inventory, training and service management.

Strategic partnership

Diversey continues to support the property through regular performance reviews, joint sustainability planning and ongoing operational guidance. The partnership provides a repeatable model for luxury and premium hotels seeking to simplify operations, strengthen safety, control costs and demonstrate measurable ESG progress without compromising the guest experience.

Customer perspective

“This project demonstrates that sustainability, operational excellence and luxury hospitality standards do not have to compete with one another. Through the right partnership, they can reinforce each other and create measurable value for hotels, employees and guests alike.”
Craig Easton, Business Development Lead UK&I

• Double-digit cost savings
