Webinar Overview

The vast majority of brown stock defoamer applications in use today are not fully optimized. Some common reasons for this are:

  • The majority of defoamer feed skids are kept at a constant dosing rate.
  • When mills do not use enough product, it causes washing process upsets.
  • If mills use a high dosing rate when there is a problem, feed rates often remain elevated once the process has returned to normal. Furthermore, when production rates drop, operators often forget to cut back defoamer usage. This results in high program costs and can result in carryover issues that affect downstream operations.

In this Webinar, Solenis’ Harold Petke and Scott Legrand will discuss how mills are improving control of their brown stock washer systems by automating their brown stock defoamer feed to adjust to changing system conditions using Solenis’ proprietary new CleanPulpSM DC1 Defoamer Control Algorithm.
